Stained glass objects

Atelier Timotéo Vitraux creates objects made with a technique derived from stained glass. This makes it possible to carry out projects for smaller budgets , while ultimately having a small stained glass window. The same components are found there( cf. Creation of stained glass windows ).

Original and handcrafted gift ideas :

We create decorative objects, pick holders, letter holders, decorations and arrangements of planters, mobiles to hang, lamps, etc ...

We have a catalog of patterns that we offer in many colors and we customize each order according to your wishes.

The chosen manufacturing technique:

We trace the pattern on thick paper and then we cut on each line. This will give us the pieces that make up the object as templates that we will then use to cut each piece of glass. Cut pieces can be painted or engraved. Then we assemble them in copper or lead according to the chosen technique:

-The Tiffany's technique: each piece of glass is surrounded with a more or less wide adhesive copper strip. The glass pieces are then assembled side by side and held in place with nails.

The parts are then welded together by covering with tin the parts where is the copper.

This technique is not recommended for outdoor objects.

-Mobile lead (lead C shaped): this is the technique we favor.

We surround each piece of glass with a lead C shaped. We then assemble all the pieces by placing them side by side and holding them with nails.

Finally, we have the choice to weld each intersection, like a classic stained glass, or cover all the lead with tin, like Tiffany. This technique makes it possible to manufacture objects with the same durability as traditional stained glass.
